An almost denim blue, this Sri...A stunning oval cornflower blue sapphire is framed beautifully in our Edwardian inspired Petal setting with marquise cut diamonds and round brilliant cut diamonds. An almost denim blue, this Sri Lankan sapphire would traditionally be called "Ceylon" colour - a cornflower blue that goes with absolutely everything. This sapphire ring would make the perfect engagement ring for someone who loves a gentle bit of colour and an antique-inspired feel. The diamonds are held in rubover platinum settings with beautiful hand-cut millegrain detailing which adds a feminine and more delicate touch while making them very secure. The sapphire is accompanied by a gem report from London's respected Gem and Pearl Laboratory confirming its Sri Lankan origin and standard heat treatment.A note from Chloë: "As a gemmologist, I chose this specific sapphire because its cornflower blue colour is so striking and beautiful. Standard heat treatment is a permanent, time-honoured practice where the rough crystal is safely heated over a few days to dissolve internal impurities and bring out its richest colour. In this case, the process unlocked the covetable cornflower blue shade (my personal favourite).
